I Survived by Lauren Tarshis
This addicting book series is all about fast-paced adventures through real historical events. The books always feature a young person trying to survive historically important events like Pearl Harbor or Pompeii. Children love experiencing these events from this viewpoint.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
This is by far one of the most popular book series for this age group. The stories of Greg show students that while life in middle school isn’t easy, there are things to look forward to. Kids love how relatable the events are.
Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi
This is a fun graphic novel book series about two siblings who try to save their mom who was taken by mysterious creatures. The adventurous plot will keep young readers asking for more.
Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland
This exciting book series is all about powerful dragons and the choices they must face between friends and their tribe. Students who love adventure will get sucked right into these books.
Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein

The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
